
Community Garden Rules
Plots will be assigned on a first come first served basis.
Plot commitment is per one plot per year May 15 - Oct 10.
Respect and Courtesy:
Keep noise levels low to respect fellow gardeners and neighbors.
Do not use or take plants or tools from another gardener’s space without permission.
Plot Maintenance:
Keep your plot and adjacent areas clean and tidy at all times.
Regularly weed your plot.
Use water wisely and avoid wastage.
Planting Practices:
Plant only crops that are appropriate for the current season.
Refrain from growing illegal or invasive species.
Position taller plants and any supportive structures like trellises towards the center of your plot to prevent shading adjacent plots.
Sustainable Gardening:
Avoid the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers.
Opt for organic gardening methods and sustainable practices whenever possible.
Care for Common Areas:
Maintain cleanliness in common areas and pathways; keep them free of obstacles.
Return all tools to the designated storage area after use and ensure they are clean.
Efficient Water Use:
During local water restrictions or bans, comply fully with the imposed measures.
Security Measures:
Ensure the garden shed is locked after use if applicable.
Do not disclose the garden’s access codes to non-members.
End-of-Season Responsibilities:
Remove all plant material and non-biodegradable waste from your plot by October 10th
Rules Compliance:
Understand that failing to adhere to these rules may lead to the forfeiture of your gardening privileges.
Acknowledgement
By registering for a plot, you acknowledge and agree to abide by these rules. The community garden is a shared space, and these rules are subject to change based on collective decisions and regulatory updates. A signed agreement is required before you can commence gardening activities.
